Alexandro Caldas
He holds a doctorate in Science and Technology Policy from the University of Sussex, United Kingdom. He is an economist having obtained a graduate degree as a Master in Science and Technology Management at the Technical University of Lisbon in Portugal.
Alexandre has 10 years experience in Science and Technology Policy. He is the Director of the new Technopole in Abrantes (TAGUSVALLEY) the Science and Technology Park of Tagus Valley. He is also the coordinator of a digital region project to create an e-Business Network in the district of Santarém. He is the CEO of T Media - an independent consultancy firm in Internet Technologies. He worked for the Ministry of Science and Technology in Portugal for 6 years as a scientific officer in information systems for Science and Technology. He worked for more than 5 years as senior consultant in Internet technologies and Information Systems for Entrepreneurial Associations (NERSANT, AIP, ...) and SMEs.
He participated in several research and development projects, such as a 10 years Foresight exercise for the Ministry of Defense in the UK, the development of an expert system for Tourist Rout Design funded by the Innovation Agency of Portugal and Innovation Indicators for the Shoemaking Industry coordinated by Dinamia/ISCTE. His research interests are focused in Science and Technology Policy, Electronic Networks and Internet Technology and Innovation. He taught several courses in Multimedia and Internet Technologies at the Atlantic University and the Advanced Technical Institute in Lisbon. He published and presented several scientific papers in technical journals and conferences in the area of electronic networks and the Internet.
