Professional Experience
João Arantes started his career at Promindustria, a Private Equity
Company, as an analyst and later on as a portfolio manager. In 1996, he
joined Banco Espírito Santo de Investimento, where he headed a corporate
finance team and then became a senior banker for retail and consumer
related industries for 3 years. As head of the Executive Committee of
Espírito Santo Capital, Mr. Arantes has been involved in the structuring
and decision making process of most recent investment and divestment
transactions, as well as in the fund raising and investors’ relation
activity. Recently, and as part of Company’s development, Mr Arantes has
also been involved in the incorporation of SES Iberian Fund I, the joint
venture with French Group Siparex for Iberian Peninsula.
Additionally, Mr. Arantes is President of APCRI – The Portuguese Venture
Capital and Private Equity Association and Member of the Board of EVCA –
European Private Equity & Venture Capital Association.
Qualifications
MBA by Universidade Católica Portuguesa and degree in Business
Administration by ISCTE.
